OCADU student agenda submission (I hope I'm in it)!

Another two page monthly divider which was developed on the theme of the agenda, "fill in the blanks", I love frames and I felt like several ornamental and empty frames would communicate the idea.
Black and White version for the OCADU Agenda cover submission which would utilize the box design and integrate all of the fine art and design departments OCADU has. I inverted the drawing in Photoshop and went too far with it... I never heard back I think they are still tweaking the agenda but I doubt I got on the cover.
This was a submission for a double page monthly divider I think they requested a linear only copy as it was so heavy compared to the other submissions. OCADU has a great bicycle community and I felt like it was as if we are worker bees contributing to the hive.

This was a still life from my drawing and painting class which I completed in March, I haven't posted anything all Summer so I thought I'd start with this image as I'm trolling through stuff that I already put into storage.

This came to me while I was walking to the Toronto Public Reference Library, I was going to find an image of Socrates and copy it for a concept I was working on with the Sketchbook Group. After seeing how beautiful the cross-hatching on the bust was, I decided to appropriate the original image and altering it's entire strength of pose. I loved creating this idea. Watercolor pencil crayon and black bic on collage from xerox photocopy. I came up with two other ideas but they are only sketchbook ideas I want to post some portaits i'm working on in the month of June. Plus somemore sketches.

Collage for MediaStudio

This is a collage I did from an AutoMart magazine, along with other finds from free magazines. It's based on Man and the Machine assignment from Media Studio, and this is exploring how much cars have changed our way of living, William Gibson stated that cars changed everything even the way we dress. I used masking tape and ink ontop of the collage. I personally hate cars...

This was for Illustration 2, the first assignment was of a portrait of an inventor. I chose Alan Turing, during the research I read about some interesting eccentricities, this is a watercolour portrait of Turing locking his coffee cup to the radiator.

It reminded my colleagues of Mad magazine satirical illustrations, which was not my intention but I appreciated the compliment. It also looks as though something or someone is pulling him off of the page.

WHODUNIT? Showpiece

Here is one of a couple pieces I made for OCAD's Whodunit showcase for 2010. I submitted the Rob Ford piece prior to the elections, and I was happy nobody bought it because I think it's priceless. Salute to the BLOG!
